I've just been to the bank and the lady I spoke to was really nice but she said that I need to either pay back what I owe or agreee to a managed loan. Has anybody got any experience of a managed loan with HSBC?
She has given me a number to call up to arrange this but in the meantine I'm going to get the ball rolling with a new bank account, can anybody reccomend a basic joint account for people with a poor credit history?
I'm on Statutory Maternity pay from my employers so I don't think I would be entitled to any income support, but thank you very much for your advice.Sealed pot challenge member #6010 -
Not had access to a computer for a few days, but if it's not too late, please don't go near a managed loan.
You spoke to a sales person. Nothing more. She is looking out for the interests of the bank. Not you. There are other ways of repaying the debt that are better for you.
First, make sure that your benefits/wages are paid into an account with a bank you do not owe any money to. If you intend to go back to work in April, you will soon have more income available so that deficit should only be a short-term problem. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
