Standby Busters Save £sss and the planet

I have a couple of those natty switches that save you money by turning off electrical appliances at the wall rather than leaving them on standby burning overpriced electricity but they are fairly expensive.
Looking around for a couple more I came across a website that is offering a pack of 3 for £9.99. A similar pack in Argos is currently £34.29! I am not sure of stock levels or for how long this price will be held.
At this price they will pay for themselves in about 3 months!

Be aware that these sockets draw some power themselves (even when the attached device is switched off). They need a little electricity to power the radio receiver that listens for a signal. Do you have one of those power consumption measuring sockets? I would love to know what the consumption of the sockets is, as this is a good price. Do realise though, that the socket might use more power than the device would have on standby. My TV, for example, only uses 0.4 watts when in standby.0

Yes Sid I can confirm I have no link to the company and just found a great deal on the web.
AlwaysSomething makes the point about the switch drawing current which it does, but at tiny levels compared to TVs, HiFis etc. As I stated in the OP I already have a couple of similar switches and they are saving me cash. I made a visual check of the electricity meter speed with and without the switch in use and the difference was perceptable. I know this is not as scientific as a one of the monitors but I'm not going to invest in one of them to tell me turning off my kit will save me money!
BTW I noted a news item on these meters that showed local councils are now starting to offer these for loan in local libraries, it may be worthing checking this out for your area.
I will try and delete the second posting.Don't blame me, I voted Monster Raving Loony!:rotfl:0
