Help with application forms

When applying for a role using an application form, there is often a section where you write why you meet the person specification, and you're supposed to say why you think you're suited etc.
What the heck are you supposed to put when part of the person spec says
'Commitment to health and safety'
'Commitment to equality and diversity'
What are you supposed to put???
'I am committed to health and safety'
'I am committed to equality and diversity'

If anyone has any other pointers too on proving you meet a person spec advice is most welcome - particularly when you are changing career direction completely like me!!

Think of some way to demonstrate your commitment.
For instance:
did you challenge some discriminatory practice to get it changed?
have you made any changes to improve H&S in the workplace in some way?0 -
With regards H&S, you could say that you believe that H&S is the responsibility of every employee and that you consider it important for an individual employee to work in a safe way and be alert to issues that may pose a potential risk and report them.
With regards equality and diversity, you could say you believe that you treat others with dignity and respect and that you believe that diversity is about recognising other's differences and treating everyone fairly. Then you could give examples to back it up.
I hope this helps and isnt too waffly!! :-)0 -
perhaps examples such as creating a Risk Assesment or reporting a health & Safety problem in your previous/present job would cover this. Any Thoughts on this everyone?
