Self Employed for Double Glazing Firm

Your husband should understand that the residential double glazing market is what is considered a "mature" market and hence difficult to succeed in. The biggest national players have all downsized and this is coupled with the difficultly in obtaining loans to pay for such products. Saying that though this is perhaps the best time to enter the market as house owners may be more inclined to improve with tangible products as opposed to buying tat.0

Have you or husband ever "been sold something" i.e. been "persuaded" to buy something that - left to your own devices - you probably would not have bought? Essentially, that's the job that he'll be doing. Whatever "excuses" the customers come up with, he will have to find a way of knocking them back, so that the customers are left with no reason not to buy.
If he's excited by this challenge, then he should go for it.
If he's worried by it, then he needs to establish whether he has to pay back next week's expenses, if he decides the job's not for him.
Chances are that he will have sales targets so he will have to get confirmed orders and deposits for £x,000 every month.
I would imagine his holiday will not be paid - and he won't be making sales when he's on holiday either. So what he earns over 48 weeks of the year will have to stretch for 52 weeks.

Thanks eamon, my OH said some truth in what you said.
Debt_Free_Chick, my OH also agrees in what you said, he said yes, most people would have definitely been sold something we were only thinking about buying, hence the hard sell. He is definitely excited about this challenge. Which i think this is what he will thrive on to be honest.
Lee316 Not initially, but basically yes, regarding commission only. He will be paying for his own petrol.0
