    I think it's so sad. All those people without jobs. My husband works part time at m and s. but luckily not at one of the above stores. He was waiting to hear if he would be made redundant, but it looks like they have more than 1000 jobs going with all them branches closing. I use the Ripon simply food quite often. My only complaint was they didn't have a trolley with a baby seat in and when I spoke to the manageress, before christmas, she didn't care!

    Woking's going to be a ghost town pretty soon, so many shops going and people out of work. Not good for anyone.

    that will please my dad and stepmum that biggin hill is going, it used to be iceland

    the only food shops in biggin hill are m&s and waitrose

    That's a shame - ours is on the list, and it's only been here a couple of years (took over the old Iceland store).

    It'll leave the door wide open for Tesco to swallow up a chunk of the town centre if they wanted - they have a little (express/metro?) store that backs onto the M&S building, and are only 2 (small) buildings away from our old Woolies, which backs onto the same delivery yard - wouldn't take much thought to join them up :(
