Asda Box of Ink Jet Paper 2p for 2000 sheets

I was in Asda today and they have boxes of white inkjet paper which has 4 packets of 500 sheets inside.

The label says Georgia Pacific Ink Jet paper 2000 sheet. The weight of the paper is 90g.

The barcode is 003650009606.

Bought 6 boxes and the girl at the till was very confused but she checked with someone and they said that as the shelf label said 2p that they had to sell it to us at that price.

Fantastic, well done.... However LEGALLY they do NOT have to sell this at that price. But to save face, they do and always probably will do to save any issues.....

They scanned at 2p per box. Apparently the old price was £10 so even if the shelf label hasnt been changed it will still scan at 2p.

Went to my local asda at kirkcaldy, they had the paper out the boxes, They came up as unknown, no price on till or shelf. No one could give a price, Assistant brought an hp pack from the same shelf, it scanned at 2p, by this time she tried scanning the other pack and it came up at £2.49. Needless to say i got the hp paper, 6 packs for 12 p!

here are the details: HP home & Office - 80gsm - 500 sheets to a pack
bar code off receipt & pack is 314172500144

    Hope this helps someone

  • I think the Georgia Pacific were only ever sold as boxes and not as single reams so it would only be the barcode on the box that is on the computer system.

I have in the past bought single reams of georgia specific from asda and I remember thinking it was cheap for the quality of it.
I think I paid the same as the cheapo asdas own but as I said good quality.
