Im Redundant..any More To Self Help..

I was made redundant 2 days after I got back from my hols and 4 weeks before Xmas 2008.Id like to start a redundant self help thread for all advise, from the legal side of things,to claiming dole and for how long etc.I cant take early retirement as Im on a money purchase scheme, and we all know that these funds are sadly lacking owing to the recent stock market crash.
Im getting a package, but may need it to see me through getting another job,if at all. Im 57 and see very little chance of getting the same good salaried job again, but by god Im going to so my very best to get back into the work place again even if its a cleaning job (nothing wrong with that).
I live just outside Portsmouth and would be very happy to meet up with similar people in the same postion.
Ive got my CV into the agencies and trying to get re-trained while Im on garden leave.
Next to stay fit and healthy, where ,my local leisure centre offers over 50's for non members for £3.60 a session on either Mon,Wed,Fri mornings, for the use of most facilities.Induction for the gym costs the same. This is a real bargain for us over 50's,and a brill way to keep physically and mentally together.
I look forward to hearing any other tips and advise ,to ultimately getting that next job.

Really sorry to hear about your situation Annie. Redundancy is very difficult and it's worse when you are older as age discrimination is still alive and well.
