Argos - 80Gb DVR

Hi,

Just had an email of offers from Argos, the 80Gb Digital Video recorder at £95 sounded good value to me. Only one tuner, but it is a digital one.

If I didn't have a DVD recorder, I'd have definitely gone for one of those.

one tuner though....so you cant watch one programmes whilst recordeing another...beware it may be an issue for some.

No these boxes record only freeview.

This model seems virtually identical to Digifusion 90 and Ferguson PVR boxes which are made by Access Devices (The Ferguson has a Top-up TV slot).

The twin tuner Digifusion 145 is attracting some interest.

Caution! There is a possibility this is just a different badged version of the technosonic PVR101, it has identical spec. We won't know until someone buys one. Also note it's a home delivery only item.

Actually the PVR101 has the potential to be an excellent PVR, but a month's gone by and we are still waiting for some critical bugs to be fixed in the firmware.
