Cheap wedding transport help needed

I'm getting married in Chester in September, and have been a long time lurker on this board. I was wondering if anyone can help as we've tried everything we can think of.

We need a car to take me from the hotel to the venue for the wedding, its just over 4 miles so around 11mins according to multimap. We're having the reception at the same place so we don't need an additional journey there. We'd like the same car/firm to take us back to our hotel in the evening.

I've been in touch with a lot of car companies and had some good quotes, but no-one has been able to do an evening journey, and the cheapest quote of £175 still seems a lot of money for one short journey. I contacted a company that does wedding cars and they've given me a better quote of £145 but they can't do the evening run. We don't know anyone who will be able to give a lift in a car as most people will be using public transport/taxis on the day so we're really stumped.

Most of the wedding organisation has gone ok but this is the biggest headache of all!

are you wanting a proper wedding car?

if so, i dont know of any that hang around until the bride and groom make their exit. they basically only turn up to take the bride to the venue, so you can have a fancy car in the pictures

most people just get a taxi, or a mate to give them a lift back to the hotel. However if you do want to splash out a bit, then you might find limo companies are the only ones who do evening bookings. Although paying for 2 separate cars isnt going to be cheap
