Saw this in Tesco this morning and wondered if anyone has one, is it any good or should I stick to a freeview box?
Done a search everywhere but can't find anything about them on here.

Saw this advertised recently and couldn't work out how the remote works if the 'adaptor' is tucked away in the scart socket at the back of the TV!
Then read the small print - there's a separate 'IR receiver' which has to be placed somewhere! So the advantage of the smallness gets outweighed by the complexity of wiring!0 -
Why does it say no unsightly box?? surely if it's in a scart at the back of ur TV then it's gunna be unsightly? I don't like it :P! they cram everything in a tiny piece of left over plastic so u weigh down ur scart plug which could knack ur TV, i there's one thing scarts can easily break so i really wouldn't recommend it! cause u've knacked ur box then.
Freeview boxes aren't that ugly are they? You don't need to hide it :P!Craig Mallaby

I looked at the box this morning in Tesco for a Bush one. The receiver thingy looked to be about the size of the "thingy" I have on my desk for the wireless keyboard and mouse.
Sorry for all the "thingy" descriptions, don't know what you call them
The picture on the box showed the receiver thingy up on the top of the TV, I guess anywhere that you can point the remote at??0 -
ah right i see the box is at the back of the TV and you stick the infared remote "thingy" he he at the top of your tv?
I still find that a bit pathetic. If you wanted to do that, i saw something on the shopping channels once which was wireless TV, works the same way as your mouse and keyboard, and you put one in connected to your freeview and one in another room and you could change channels in another room. I never researched on this but it seemed a good idea! therefore just stick your freeview behind ur TV (to hide it) and hey presto :P!Craig Mallaby

The reason I looked at this is I want freeview on the portable which sits on the desk near the pc, I don't have room for a freeview box0

I bought one for my sister from Makro just before christmas, it works great plug it in to the scart socket plug the infrared receiver in to it and put it round the front. it does require power and a decent aerial but doesnt every other freeview box? and it is tiny she doesnt have the space for another box in her bedroom.0

Absolutly nothing wrong with it if you have a use for it, as you have a tv with no room for a digi box then this gadget could have been made for you0

It was £44.95 I think.Little_John wrote:I bought one for my sister from Makro just before christmas, it works great plug it in to the scart socket plug the infrared receiver in to it and put it round the front. it does require power and a decent aerial but doesnt every other freeview box? and it is tiny she doesnt have the space for another box in her bedroom.
Thanks for that, I think that is what I needed to hear that someone had tried one. Only problem might be that I will be running it off an inside aerial but I do get good reception from the inside aerial and run an old Ondigital box off an inside aerial in another room.
Thanks for all the help.0
