Dry Skin

Options
I'm in need of major help please.

I have dry flaky skin on my nose, cheeks and forehead and I can't find a moisturiser that sorts it out. If I get one for dry skin then I get greasy skin. If I get one for normal/combo skin then it stays dry and I get greasy skin. I just can't win.

Anyone have any good tips or reccomendations for products that may help?
Also when I wear foundation it just makes my face look so flaky. I've tried liquids and mineral.

TIA

    Hiya

Do you have dandruff as well? Is the dry skin itchy?

If not, try Eucerin. Google eucerin and take their skin analysis test. You can get samples of most of their products.

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)
  • My aunt swears by vaseline on her face at night and she has amazing skin, it didnt ever give her spots. Have u tried coconut oil in a cream? Also I find the cream in a tube from boots, i think its called baby skin cream is very good and doesnt leave grease on my face.

is it a usual skin type? ie this happens to you in summer too? because if not, it's probably due to the cold weather and central heating,.. if so you could try to exfoliate with a face scrub and moisturise well with a night cream, or Moisture Surge - clinique is very good too - no greasy feel.

Hi I suffered from dry skin on nose and with foundation on top it just looked terrible. I tried to stop using anything with harsh chemical in it as I found them very drying. Sorry but I think it will be a case of trial and error till you find the right products for your skin. I would recommend using a facial oil at night so see if that helps. I found exfolating just made my skin red so I don't but I think it is recommended. For cleaners I use Avnue for senstive skin, rose water as a toner and Avnue moisturisers, they can be found in Boots. Goof luck.

Ok you need to do a acouple of things
    1) Exfoliate using a gentle exfoliator- Time delay one is excellent from Boots ONCE a week only.
    2) At night apply a night moisturiser to the flaky dry areas (try origins night cream)
3)Use a day moisturiser on the parts that are not dry
$)during the day or before you apply foundation use your exfoliator a toner and then moisturise at leastan hour before you want to put on make up and then see how your skin is
    Best of luck!

Have you tried Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream? That's the one that all the celebs favour and, of course, that's why "I" use it!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sometimes Superdrug have it on special offer - they do a general 8 hr cream and then one just for hands. Even if you have to pay full price it is SO rich that you only need a little and a tube lasts ages. Sometimes if you ask very nicely at the E Arden counter in a dept store the assistant will find you a weeny sample.

Sounds like you could use it just on the very dry parts f your face. I do that too.

I suffer dry skin patch breakouts and get lot of benefit from using E45 cream. Buy a big tub and slap it on, especially at night. If flare up is really bad, you can up to E45Hc which has low dose of cortisone to get it under control for 3/4 days then switch back down to normal E45.
