oooh mince pies nice but we dont liek fish....is there anything that's really good value or so nice it's worthwhile buying a lot of ? I want to do a monthly shop .
  • Other thing I find really handy is their £1 frozen mixed berries - bulks out an apple crumble and it lasts for ages.
  • No we have to remind you not to spend money Mardartha....

    Hi Mardatha

I do the Iceland thing once a month. I find they are very good for the veg, peas, carrots, cauli, sprouts, etc, £1 per bag. They do a bag of cod fillet pieces for about £4.50 - £5 which I find okay for fish pie. Their prawns are £2 per pack and again, good value and okay in sandwiches, prawn curry, to bump up fish pie. Hollands pies are about £2 for four (DH gets them every now and then for a treat). In the summer, the ice lollies/ ice-cream go down well with DNs. Scampi good value at £4 per bag, which may seem a bit to pay, but the pieces are very big. They do do offers on non-food stuff as well but I mainly tend to stick to the frozen stuff and then get them to deliver it for free.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

we like their chicken kiev's. 6 for £2.50. only ones i've had where when being cooked the filling stays inside, lol. Also like their chicken strips in a bag/box. great for making home made kfc wraps. Capri suns. 10 for £1.50. we like these frozen in the summer as ice pops as well as drink. there frozen sweetcorn is the nicest around. i've tried loads of diff ones and to me this is the one one which taste like fresh corn on cob sweetcorn. their own make of baileys is lush and at £4 a bottle makes it even more appealing. although i make my own pizzas i have a real weakness for their sweet chilli pizza. think it is £1.50 for a huge one. and it is devine.
