Hi all,
I've just started a debt management plan with Churchwood and would like to know if anyone else has delt with this company and their experiences with them.
Also can anyone give me any information on One Banking as I'm trying to open a very basic bank account and Churchwood seem to be pushing this compnay.
Many Thanks
El

CCCS and Payplan offer similar services for free.0

One Banking charge £30 for opening an account and then a monthly fee of £12.50 - a complete rip off. You can get a basic bank account (for free) with many banks, the Co-op Cashminder is a good one. Churchwood are pushing them probably because they get commission or something.
You are already paying Churchwood for the privilege of them running/setting up your DMP, do you really want to pay more fees to get a bank account? All this money paid in fees could be going towards reducing your debt!
As nomoneytoday says, CCCS and PayPlan will set up and manage a DMP for free...

Thanks for your help.
I've managed to set up a free accout with the co-op.
Thanks

Its ok saying you can get a bank account free, but a lot of people have got overdrafts and the banks are being very difficult about opening accounts for debtors. The card banking systems are good if you have no other option and want something quickly to get you back on track and get rid of your overdraft. Decide what you want from the service and then make an informed choice. Sites like this have a wealth of factual information and not just peoples opinions which with all respect aren't always the best source of honest unbiased information.0
