Honoring prices in shops??

I saw an offer today in holland and barrett where you could buy one get one half price on snacks.
On my way out I saw a bag with a price ticket of 29p, I've got a feeling this ticket has the wrong price. I know the shop has to honor the 29p as advertised but do they have to give me one for half price as well???
If they do... wow! But if not 29p is still not bad!!
Thanks for your help

They definitely do not have to give you the item at the marked price. If it has been put on the shop floor by mistake they can refuse to sell it to you and take the rest of the products off the shelves, withdrawing it from sale. I've had to do that before when I worked in a shop.
If it was a one off item wrongly priced then maybe they might just decide to sell it you to get rid of it.
People do make mistakes in stores, just human error. I have had experience of the other mispricing where customers swap tickets from cheap garments to expensive garments to try and get things cheap!!0 -
Could you explain the 29p price tag, was it on a shelf edge ticket or actually on the bag itself? We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

If you are asking if you could buy that one and get a more expensive one half price - if that one is genuinely 29p and you bought it together with one for £2.00 then it would be the 29p one cut to half price. Of course, that is assuming that it is one of the ones in the offer.
Also, as another poster said, they are not obliged to sell you anything. Technically price tags are an "invitation to treat", you make the offer by paying at the till and the offer is accepted when payment is taken. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Quite correct about the contract made at the till. However there are some offences that are made out by advertising prices / offers that are misleading or fraudulent. But honest held mistakes do happen, and in reality most retailers are very good at getting it right, and if mistakes have happened a lot of shops will honour the price some won't.
Another misconception about pricing is that if customers swap prices around, it is alright as long as the item is paid for. Unfortunatly it is wrong and come nicely under either the Theft Act, or the Fraud Act this includes swaping barcodes and using SACAT (Unattended tills) as this offence now includes the abillity to deceive a machine. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
The 29p is on the shelf ticket.
I thought maybe I could buy one for 29p and get one more for half price (15p)
Think I'll pop back in tomorrow and see if the price still says the same- no harm in trying!!

If the shelf ticket has on it what the price is for make sure that it matches what you are buying. Good luck. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
