WH Smith books

I went into my local WH Smith at lunchtime to usemy "buy one chart paperback get one chart paperback free" voucher. These books are already buy one get one half price. The sales assistant put both promotions through so I got two chart paperbacks worth £7.99 each for £3.99! Not sure if this is a glitch as I didn't question it.
Also while there I got two Mr Men Gift packs, with a book and activity stuff in each, down from £5.99 to £2.99 but buy one get one half price so a total of £4.49 for both.
In total I spent £8.47 and was very happy!

Tried this today and came out with £7.99, queried it but was told I had got a good deal as it was!
Stil got 2books for £7.99 but could hae been better!0 -
got a fab deal in WH Smith yesterday using just 1 voucher - the £5 off when you spend £10 on kids books (the one you can print off)
Anyway, I picked up two Jaqueline Wilson Sleepover packs (contain 2 story books, 1 journal, a pen and some sleepover invitation slips) - RRP £9.99 but reduced to half price. I also got 2 Hannah Montana activity books reduced from £3.99 to £1.99
At the till the JW sets went through as buy one get one half price - think the HM books did too - so by the time my £5 voucher was deducted the whole lot came to £5.60 ish
at original RRPs they would have cost almost £28
- think I might go back for more

I went and used my voucher today, and I had to pay £7.99 for 2 books. Bit of a shame, but fairly good anyway.0

So, the £5 off children's books when you spend £10 on books can involve more than 1 book?? I thought it was just £5 when you spend £10 on ONE book. If this is the case, that's great!!0 -

Yes, when you spend £10 on childrens books PLURAL. I've been getting offers such as two £6.99 childrens books on Buy One Get One Half Price, which works out at £10.48, then getting the £5 off thus £5.48 for two books. Really good deal.
And in the sale they had a pile of Disney story books with CDs at £6.99 reduced to half price, so I got three (3 x £3.49) which came to £10.47, then used the voucher to get them all for £5.47. Very good price for £20.97 worth of books.Val.0 -
I think the one book stipulation relates to the adult book voucher. The way I read it you can put together as many childrens books as you can to get to over £10, & then get the £5 off - so some big bargains to be got on sale books!0

I have used adult books voucher with more than one book without any problems quite few times since it came out first time back in November. Works very well with all those reduced price cookery books -you can get two good books that RRP around £20 each for about £6-7 once discount comes off.
Edit: I think first voucher that expired at end of December did not say one book only and SAs have stopped looking into small print by now

I'm sorely tempted to try this. Did you have any problems at the till, or did they just input the voucher without a murmer?Val.0
