Mattress topper

Hi, am finding my mattress a little "hard" these days - it is a good quality one and very firm but I think I need a little "padding" on top.
I'm considering buying either a feather bed to go on top or a memory foam topper. Anyone got any experience of these and have you found them any good?
Many thanks

Hi, I am looking to buy a couple of single bed ones for my two son's beds as their mattresses are a bit uncomfy. I got one myself a few years back for my double bed which was on wooden slats. I got a goose / down topper and I can't tell you how comfy it was!! it was absolute bliss. I've since bought a superking bed of a very good quality so don't need one for myself now, but would thoroughly recommend one.0

I've bought a few mattress toppers from Matalan (silentnight memory foam), £60 for a double and £70 for a kingsize, highly recommended, just the right thickness for heat.

The only problem with feather toppers is that the feathers move about, so you end up sleeping in a hollow.
If you mattress is still in good condition then I'd go for a reflex foam topper. If you are trying to make the bed softer, then don't go for memory foam as it has to be high density to work properly. However memory foam does releive pressure, so that could do the trick.
If your old mattress is worn out, then you really need to change it, and could go for a softer one.0 -
