How much should a wedding car cost?

We have received two seperate quotes for hiring a Mercedes-Benz S Class Saloon and a Mercedes-Benz Viano. The first one seemed really resonable at £300+vat but the second one was for just £160 for the both.

This second one just seemd to good to be true, any thoughts or comparable prices?

We've just paid for 2x Silver Mercedes Benz S Class and it's cost us £355 all the quotes we got were around this mark. (1 was £190 so still above the £160)

£160 does seem to good to be true, but depends where you live. Do they have any references and have you actually been down and seen the cars?
  • We live in liverpool and do not drive so we have only looked at there websites and will not be able visit the showrooms.

The cheaper site is http://www.whereto-chauffeur.co.uk/index.htm and they say they are a member of the liverpool chamber of commerce. I would really rather save myself half the money, but the money is not worth taking a chance of no cars on the day.

The first Mercedes quote is at the more normal rate of £300 plus VAT. I know a company in Birmingham that hires out cars - they have two Armstrong Siddleys that are hired as a pair and they cost £550 plus VAT so that gives you some idea of the cost.

The company quoting £160 seems really low and one wonders if they have public liability insurance or what the car is like.

Our's is costing £165 - just the one car doing several trips as the distances are so short.

Is there any way you can ask the cheaper company for some testamonials?
  • I am paying £300 for a cadillac, which is doing 2 trips. But I was also offered an old style Merc for £50 to just take Grandparents.. But £160 sounds really really cheap, too cheap a suppose. Try some wedding forums on other sites to see if anyone else has used them x
  • We paid £160 for a model T. Lovely guy, great car fully insured through the classic car association.
  • We are using H2B purple baywindow vwcampervan cost = free
