When can you start to make these?
Is it only after you have earned what you intend to contribute, or can you contribute in April in anticipation of earnings for later in the tax year?

Same date as any other pension contribution. From 6th April 2009.
The tax year is considered one period. It doesnt matter when in the tax year you contribute, as long as its within the tax year.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
