My brother & his partner are having their first born in April. Mom to be is well catered for in all areas to help before, during & after labor, however my brothers a bit left out (not that he'll probably need as much as her).
I want to make a Labor survival kit for his birthday, but am a little bit stuck for ideas, anyone have any ideas from experience, both pratical &/or amusing?
So far I've thought of:-
Little toilettries bag to freshen himself up a bit incase its a long labor.
Peg for his nose, for changing nappies.
Address book, incase his mobile dies he'll need numbers to let people know whats going on (at least her immediate family)
Wallet of change, for phone calls or/& vending machines (my OH had a lot of waiting around late at night waiting for labor to start after being induced)
Disposable camera, incase the batteries/memory card runs out.
Are there any pocket sized guides on looking after babies or something? A larger book might make him think I think he'll be clueless.
Any help greatly appreciated.

You can get a Haynes manual on babies (like the old car ones but a 'how to' guide for men) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-Manual-Conception-Two-Years/dp/1844257592/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1231184423&sr=8-1
Some bars of chocolate etc for during the labour
Ear plugs0 -
How about
chocolate bars, snacks (you never know how long it will take)
Red Bull (same reason as above)
Ear Plugs (so he can't hear her shouting its all his fault)
Plasters (to cover the cuts from digging her nails into his hand)Wooligans member 2010 - 6 animal blankets. 2 angel wraps, 2 baby hat, 4 Aaron squares, 5 cardigans

DH also suggested one of those cups of coffee which heat up when you press the button on the bottom0

Pro plus to keep him awake - my ex kept dropping off as he was tired - one of the reasons he is an ex :rotfl:.
Smelling salts in case he feels faint
. Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

paddingtondoo omg, why didnt I think of smelling salts! Its a running joke that its going to be him needing the medical attention as he passes out at blood, needles, drips etc
Thanks all.

Oooo, a nappy belt, thats a great idea Julie, he's very much into his DIY so could use it for that afterwards - I've got a stack of old jeans waiting to be cut up so could use that material to make it extra sturdy. Yours look fab, no wonder you sell a lot of them.
mummy2monsters, goggles :rotfl: love that idea!
bellsbells never thought of tissues, sure a pack of pocket size for him to hide would be good
