i worked in a public sector job and saw a girl start who was pg - she didn't tell anyone until she was really showing. she got full pay for 6 months after only working at the company for 6 months. she came back for the three months and left.

i also worked in another job where a girl started and was already pregnant - she got sacked as soon as she told them - they said her work wasn't up to standard but it looked very dodgy!

Hmm well I wanted to re access my career anyway I am at the top of my game and have been working non stop since I was 16 so I wanted to take a bit of time out
Wouldn't we all but not really practical when you have a mortgage and bills etc plus a family on the way
so now being pregnant I have realised that I dont want to get a childminder after I have baby I already pay over £1K a month in tax, take my mortgage out, bills then a nanny etc and I woudl be left with not much at all PLUS I would never see my baby! The hours I used to work were around 7.30am til 7pm so it woudl not be fair!
Not too far off my own life but the choice I made was to continue with my pregnancy therefore I had no choice in keeping the roof over it's head so back to work I and so many others have to do
I think I am just going to put the flat on he market and see what we get for it and then decided if we want to buy or proba;y just rent for a year or so until prices have settled even if I only make £30K its better than nothing
I wonder if the only thing you would be able to rent on one wage would be another flat. You may be better off staying put until you decide to go back to work.
  • I have been thinking about the publis sector
what role was it and where do i look for those jobs?
  • sorry mean public sector

what you could do is sell up now, and move in with your parents, for a while, then check out local auction places where houses are sold cheaper.

    House prices are still falling.
