Changing NHS dentist in Northern Ireland

I am looking into the possiblity of changing my dentist. I'm currently registered with an NHS dentist and the waiting list for treatments or checkups are absolutely horrendous.
I can't afford private treatment  and wondered if anyone knows what the NHS ones are like over here? I know from previous news reports that the lists in England are awfully long and it can be hard to register with 1 NHS dentist, never mind changing!!
I'm in the Ballymena area if anyone can offer advice I'd be grateful.

I just changed dentist in the last few days. I was orinally at the stranmillis dental practice at NHS level treatment but have moved to Tumelty on the hightown road. I signed up for the independant treatment level but NHS was an option and i wasn't warned against it in anyway. I could have easily signed up for NHS if i fancied.
I doubt you'll have any issues, the difference between the south east of england and the us(Scotland also for that matter) is massive. I am a blow in from Glasgow and in the last 6 years have changed dental practice 3 times, alsways due to logistics and never had an issue.

If you give the CSA a ring in Belfast a_b, they will be able to give you a list of dental practices in your area that are taking on NHS patients. There are a quite a few in Ballymena as far as I know0
