Gymophobics - anyone used them?

Hi all,

Sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.

I have a gym local to me which is called Gymophobics (apparently they are all over the country). Its a women-only gym and its set up as a circuit so you do a set amount of time on each bit of equipment. Apparently each session only lasts 30 minutes and you get someone with you to guide you through everytime you go. There are some machines to raise your heart rate and some resistance stuff to help tone the muscles.

This appealed to me as I find "normal" gyms intimidating and going for 30 minutes 3 times a week is manageable for me. I'm a bit too busy (and lazy!)to spend hours at a time in the gym

I dont really want to lose weight as such (although any that is lost is a bonus), but just tone up because I have a few wobbly bits I dont like :rotfl:

But has anyone else used Gymophobics? If so, what are your opinions on it? I think the one local to me is about £28 which isn't bad but I didn't want to go if people haven't gotten any results from using it.

Thanks :D

Never been to one of these gyms but £28 for a gym that you can only use for half an hour at a time I think is a bit of a rip off.

I have a friend who has been going for about 2 years, I have not noticed that she has lost any weight, she has said that she has lost inches but it is not noticable. She says she goes for the social aspect and said they all have a good laugh. You also have to book an appointment to attend and it is only for 30 minuites because that is the time it takes to complete the circuit on all the equipment. She is in fact quite large but does not combine the gym with any diet so perhaps it would wark if she did.

Yeah- that I am coming to terms with just now:rolleyes:: there is a finate amount of calories you can burn through exercise per day/week/etc and if you eat too much or eat enough to maintain that (eg if your not on a calorie restriction diet) you will not lose weight however much exercise you do!
