Cheap paraffin in Tunbridge Wells

Does anyone know if you can buy paraffin at a realistic price in Tunbridge Wells? It seems that the only places left in town that sell it are the rip-off DIY superstores and garden centre chains who sell it for typically £6 for a 4 litre plastic container full, that's a staggering £1-50 per litre!!! :mad: :mad: Not so long ago, paraffin always used to cost about 10-15% less than petrol, that was when you could walk to your local hardware store with your gallon can and they would fill it up for you. Well petrol now costs about 83p per litre, so why is paraffin nearly twice that price? Does this mean that people who don't live in outlying areas (which still have their local stores that sell paraffin at a realistic price) are now held to ransome by the DIY chain mafia, and any saving they make by going out of town to such stores is more that lost because of the cost of getting there? :mad: :mad: How does the little old lady in Tunbridge Wells with a greenhouse heater buy one gallon of paraffin without getting well and truly stung by greedy B&Q et al? Any thoughts gratefully appreciated!

The main road Shell garage near me had theirs priced at £9.29 for 4 litres!

If you go to the Total Garage at Croft Road Crowborough its £6.49 for 4ltrs.

Is anyone aware of where I may be able to get cheaper paraffin than in the DIY stores around Taunton.

I used to be able to buy it by the gallon in an old school ironmongers in Bridgewater up until about 1 year ago, now its either expensive pre-pac stuff in 4l containers or a minimum of 500l from an oil company.

I thought that Mole valley Farmers might be okay but it seems not.

Anyone know of paraffin on pump near plymouth? i am happy to use my own containers.
