Just to let you know that bread flour is now 48p at tesco (it was 45p then went up to 75p a few weeks ago)...i think tesco make prices up as they go along.
(I made a special trip to asda 2 weeks ago to buy it at 46p as i refused to pay 75p)

If they charge 75p at one of their supermarkets, after a month of doing this they can then advertise in all their other ones "Reduced from 75p to 48p, save 28p"
Same as everything else you see advertised on "sale" in most places.0 -

There should be laws about this actually - like they can only compare it to the price it's been in that specific store. I really cant stand supermarkets and their pricing tactics. Very sneaky - you have to really watch them.0 -
Well they won't be selling any of it to us for a while regardless of price - we bought 8 bags in Asda a few days after Tesco inflated their prices. Our local Tesco had pretty much a full shelf on Saturday - unsurprisingly at that price!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
Balance as at 01/09/23 = £115,000.00 Balance as at 31/12/23 = £112,000.00
Balance as at 31/08/24 = £105,400.00 Balance as at 31/12/24 = £102,500.00
£100k barrier broken 1/4/25
Balance as at 31/08/25 = £ 95,450.00. Balance as at 31/12/25 = £ 91,100.00

Me too EssexHebridean! Except my trip was to Lidl for 8 bags. But I did buy two more in Tesco today when I saw the revised price - just to show willing, I had a quiet laugh thinking perhaps they'd sold so little due to all of us jumping ship they'd decided to put it down again.
I'm waiting to see what happens with the free yeast now. I've been getting it for a couple of months or so. I think I've had about 4 lots, but the last time they were really giving me the evil eye and it was all crumbs not a nice block like I've had before. Morrisons just flatly refused me when I asked very nicely.0
