Hi peeps,
Just need to vent a bit really. I decided to put my car back on the road and my company helped me by giving me an interest free loan to fix it.
Thats all good and well but it came time for the insurance and tax. Problem is that I was £50 short in my savings account to cover the full yearly amount. I rang Barclays and asked if I could have a temporary (6 day) increase in my overdraught by £100 and got a "computer says no" after going through some long winded application.
I complained to the woman, telling her why I needed the money and have been with Barclays for over 10 years. She wasnt interested, even when I threatened to close the account.
So now because of the tight asses at Barclays I have had to pay for my car insurance monthly and thats cost me an extra £30 a year and another direct debit added, not removed to my account.
The REALLY annoying thing is I have an egg card that has a good limit on it but I cut it up and am paying it off, but had I used it, I could have paid off the amount of the car insurance in full on the statement when it appeared.
Im well annoyed at both Barclays and myself !

Hmm, I never thought about that to be honest, but i dont think a lot of them have that opion. However on the plus side, I still saved about £100 by shopping around and reading Martins articleThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
