I recently discovered this one here http://www.scrimpy.co.uk which searches the best sale bargains on the web.
Also this is some comparison sites I use which weren't quite what the OP was asking but still useful
Bookbutler for books and they've just started Cinebutler for dvd's but it doesn't seem to compare too many sites yet, whereas their book search is the best I've found for covering the lot, so it might improve.
find-cd for music
and the Argos Clearance Auction for poster above is www.argosclearance.co.uk

also IBOOD (internets best offer of the day) at www.ibood.com - they send you a daily email with a special offer with huge discounts!0

offer of the day (all one word with .co.uk on the end)
searches the best discounts on the web - have had a few bargains from there!
The websites blocked by forum (bit techy) but just search in google and it will come up.
Explained Here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1380375&highlight=offer+of+the+day0 -
grabitnow.com has a deal of the day and then on some days there is a different deal every hour.0

Scrimpy has been built by the same developers that did Goofbay (a MSE fave). The site hasnt been officially 'launched' yet but looks promising already, aims to be a '1 stop sale shop' so this time next year rather than having so scour lots of individual sites for sales, you'll be able to search all the sales from one place (and compare which shops have the biggest discounts etc.)
Other features 'in development' (i think live on some products already) are things like email notifications on sale items, so that when shops reduce products even further you can be emailed the second they drop the price (price drop notifications is something most retailers dont want visible to customers so you dont get it on many sites - but can on 3rd party sites like scrimpy).
I used to work in a designer clothing shop and we'd often reduce sale items gradually over time until eventually it was at a price that had to sell. So often in the Jan sales you'd get something at 30% off, then a week later 50% and eventually by the end of Jan sometimes 90% off (just to get rid of old season stock). So people rush to sales in Jan for 30%, but by waiting (if its a 'nice to have' purchase) could have got 90% if they had hung on 2-3 weeks more. :money:0 -

Thanks for such a fab thread. Many of these sites I hadn't heard of. I've stored them for future bargain hunting!
