Hello All,
We are currently looking at possibilities of a ceremony venue and are considering the local baptist church (was the church i atteneded as a child)
Does anyone have any idea of what a baptist church would possibly charge for a ceremony?
I just want to get an idea to try and work into my budget
Thanks

What an individual church charges is very much down to them, they may ask for a fee for the minister, organist and for the Authorised Person. Have you checked that the minister is willing to marry you? Some ministers are more strict than other about people marry in their church if they are not regular attenders and also if either bride or groom have been married before. You really do need to check with the church concerned before you start making any plans.0

Thanks for your reply,
Yes the church would be happy to marry us, im still in contact with alot of people from there and they were all very happy about the news. I'll try contacting them soon to find out the sort of thing they cost.
And there would be no problems about 2nd times around ect, i'm 21 and other half is 26 lol
Thanks again

The cost does vary from church to church, but i can tell you that our Catholic Church wedding is costing £250 for a full nuptial mass. This covers the cost of heating, electricity, the priest, the administration fees. The organist is extra and if i remember correctly that costs about £50. I think if we had a shorter service the church fee would be £175.
My friends brother paid £250 just to heat his church, yet his wedding was in July. Ask in advance and make sure you know exactly what the fee does and doesn't cover. Its easy to forget things and end up with unexpected costs. Be up-front and then you know what you can and can't afford. Also check when you need to pay by. We have a rehearsal the week before our wedding date and everything needs to be paid on the rehearsal date. This is actually kind of handy as no-one needs to worry about it on the day.

A simple church wedding in a CofE church is less than £350 but that is really basic. The basic fees are set by the Church of England nationally but figures may vary slightly from couple to couple depending on your circumstances. For full details, a breakdown of fees can be viewed on https://www.yourchurchwedding.org
Expect to pay extra for heating, bells, organist, choir, florist0
