  • Sorry for my absence from the forums since my last reply, these last few days have been hectic!

Firstly and most important my partner got the job!

We've reviewed our SOA and made changes to our budgets, reduced hairdressers to £15pm, knocked £45 off groceries, reduced entertainment and presents to £20pm each.

I've calculated her new income and the tax benefits for childcare and all these changes mean our shortfall goes from -£370 to -£87, still needs work!

One of our cars is on Ebay and the planned sale will clear £3.5k of debt, approx £120pm, rest will buy a cheap runaround will save on yearly running costs £40 pm, spreading this years council tax will save approx £15pm, and we still have numerous ebay items to list, hoping for about £500!
I've also managed to locate a car sharing buddy £100pm in petrol costs!

All this and I reckon we'll be in credit for £180-£190 per month, let the snowballing begin!
I'll still be in debt for aprrox £44k but much more managable!

Thanks to all those who gave advice and everyone else's stories that motivate you into making changes!

I'll keep this thread alive with my progress and this is still only a plan and things could change!
