What to ask for in a will (Scotland)

I am very conscious that I have no will and would like to get one written soon. I shall get in written by a solicitor for peace of mind. I am just looking for some helping to tease out what I should ask for?

I am early 40's and have one dependent child who is 16. In the event of my death while she is still in education she could be financially supported by her dad who is a high earner.

I want to leave everything to my daughter. I have a 3 bed house (no mortgage), decent savings and if I die whilst still working I have a death in service benefit of 2 x my annual salary.

Is it possible to leave most of the estate in trust (managed by two of my relatives) until she is 21? I would like to give her the option to keep or sell the house.

I do have a partner, but we dont live together. We are both happy with this just now. If we were to ever live together/ marry would the will still be valid? He understands that I would want dd to inherit and has no problems with this arrangement.

I am not offically divorced from my ex, but we have been apart for six years and have a legal separation agreement which includes an undertaking to make no further financial claim on each other.
