I have never used this shop before (even though I know loads of other people on MSE have) as there is no physical shops in Scotland - but they have some decent stuff on sale at great prices at the moment - i.e. a Circulon frying pan (lifetime guarantee) reduced from £40 to £10 - these are a GREAT brand so I am buying a few for me and friends and family (thus saving on several lots of delivery charges)
  • hi im chris from robert dyas (london branch)

erm.....our costomers cant enter "codes" at the till......they must have a valid "physical" voucher. need to read that deal page again mate lol

  • ok ok illl admit it i got one the "im an employee high horse" i mis-interpreted the post,, lets say that eh ;D

ok so anyways dunno if its any good to you guys but we have a clearence sale goin on in most stores as many have just had a complete restock of new products and were pretty much selling these products at a lowr price then WE even bought them for.....hows that for bargains? lol ok heres a line up i can manage to remember while re-prices some stuff at work earlier:

    linseed oil/boiled linseed oil/methalated spirits/button polish are all about £1.50 for a 150ml bottles i think...abit smaller then a lucazade bottle,

oh wait just rememberd! we have energiser batteries in like pack of 8 AA ,
4 AAA, 4 C, 4D and they ALL cost £6.99 BUT you get any other packet for FREE....yes any size mix and match whatever. so example 8-AA + 4AAA = £6.99,

oh another one: you knwo the really small brabintia bins like 3 ltr? yeah theyre really small...well wev'e got the pack of those bags for 99p! so u can pay the normal amount which i beleive is about £3.00 and get 3 times the same amount of bags ;D

mmmmmmmm: oh if your a camping or a fishing man/lady you can have yourself a mini GAS stove (1) for £9.99 and geuss what...the gas is cheaper (suprised?) well u can buy the gas in packs of 4 for the price of £4.99,...if your a fisherman i knwo you wouldnt mind that! imagine the morning after catching that !!!!!! carp u can have a fry-up in the morning :D

i think allot of the garden stuff is on the clearence sale but theres a section in most shops wheres basicly half the shop is on clearence and like ari fresheners and cleaning stuff is at prices from 50P+

Hi Chris - you're right, there's some great bargains. TBH I hadn't heard of Robert Dyas until a couple of weeks ago when someone posted about some bargain kitchen scales, reduced from £49.99 to £14.99, which I couldn't resist checking out, and I was pleasantly surprised by the bargains that were available. I bought the scales, a lettuce knife* and a double size griddle plate and I'm really pleased with them all.

    * I eat lots of iceberg lettuce but hate the way it goes brown in the fridge - the browning is caused by cutting it with a metal knife, but the lettuce knife isn't metal, so doesn't make it go brown!

You sound really passionate about your job - I like that! :~)

I've learnt something new about the lettuce going brown, thanks! I hate that too...
