Advice about pay after leaving

I had a thread before but thought would start a new one, I sent letter to company saying i was leaving and stated that contract says 4 weeks notice which would take me upto the 30th dec as leaving date but they sent me a letter back saying there accepting my letter of leaving etc. I got my P45 and it says my leaving date is 30th nov.

Can they do this? Cause i work offshore and i was classed as in my time off but we get salary paid.

    I remember the earlier post.

What was the date of your letter? Before or after 30 November?

As it is a four-week offshore, 4-week off basis, do you actually get fresh contract each time you leave for the offshore work?

Seems to me that they typed the leaving date incorrectly.

However, four weeks from the date of your letter is not four weeks notice because you would need to give them four full weeks notice and you have not done this.

Have you also checked about any company rules on giving notice? For example, I worked for a company that required notice of one month but that had to be one complete calendar month which was defined as starting on the first day of a month. In their case, resigning on 2 December (even if they received the notice on the same day) would have meant that the final date of employment would be 31 January. I'm not saying that is what your contract says but there might be some odd thing like that in it - perhaps relating to the time when you are due to travel out too the offshore location.

Have you been in touch with them yet to find out what they say?

yes and there going to look into it and get back to me

They accepted what it said in my letter so they should of informed me that i wasnt getting a wage when they sent me a letter saying they accept me resigning.
