How are you honoring your parents?

My oh and I would like to do something special for our parents during our wedding ceremony, but we're not really sure what that "something" should be yet.

Aside from walking down the aisle and/or the "giving away", are y'all doing anything in particular for your parents? I'd love to hear ideas!

How about giving each mother a bouquet of flowers as a thank you? You can always give the dads something as well.
  • The bridesmaids are keeping their dresses, shoes and accessories(sp?):o so just a bouquet for the mothers and something for my dad which i havent decided on!

We are going to get flowers for our mum's. And I also have special 'favours' for them, little carriages with sweets in, just so they have a little extra memento.

  • We thanked ours in the groom's speech, he said something along the lines of thanks for bringing us up & what great examples of a happy marriage they were.(Then we presented them with gifts). My parents had just celebrated their Silver Wedding so it tied in quite nicely; many of the guests had recently attended that party.
  • If you are having a religious ceremony you could have a thanksgivng prayer for your parents.
