PC World Interest free agreement

hi
this is my first post so please bear with me if i have posted to the wrong place.
I have made 2 seperate purchases with 2 seperate PC World stores (out of stock on 1 product)
my question is, do they make it deliberatly difficult to pay the balance off in full within the 6 months interest free period?

I ask because i have both of the contracts in front of me, and the only info i can find is that the credit is arranged with OCA HFC (assume Halifax Bank)
it tells me i have the right to pay it off within the first six months thereby avoiding the interest, but i cannot find any telephone contact number to call and pay over the phone,
which i was able to do with Argos purchases

products bought 28.08.08 so getting round to time of paying off
can anyone supply a contact number please?

many thanks for any help

PS
great site Martin
sometimes i think life's !!!!!!, but then i sit back, take a sniff, and have it confirmed :p

  • HFC Bank is not Halifax, its part of the HSBC group. When I bought my laptop a couple of years ago, I think the final payment had to be by cheque, with my loan account number on the back. The customer services number (easily found on the net!) is 0870 010 0453.

About 8 months ago I bought an Imac from PC world with finance from HFC, a couple of weeks after i bought the Imac I received a letter from HFC which stated where you could send a cheque for full payment to within the interest free period, which I paid in full a couple of months before the interest free period expired.

Looking at the letter I received it does say if you have any queries with the account to call the customer services department on 0870 010 0453, perhaps you could phone them up and ask about paying over the phone?

For goodness sake give it a rest!!!
I hope the general trend of MSE advice moves away from your kind of advice quickly.

How many people do you know who have walked away scott free????

    Didn't think so!!
