Update! - What to wear to job interview?

Hey all
I have a interview for my dream job week after next and I'm having a bit of a wobble over what to wear.
The job itself is in the youth work field and will involve a lot of outward bound style work with young people, as well as some admin work. I have previously (temporarily) worked for the company in question doing very similar role. When I worked there I wore jeans and tshirt with their logo on. All other employees dress like this, except the office girls who wear jeans/black trousers and smartish top.
So as it's a job interview I know I obviously need to dress smart, but I think maybe a suit would be a tad too much. So I was thinking either:
- black trousers, heels and blouse
- black trousers, heels and one of those tops that look like a thin knit jumper over a blouse.
- black trousers, heels and thin knit jumper
I will need to go buy something new and plan to look tomorrow. I tend to find it hard to get a good fitting blouse as I'm rather busty and find they gape.
I'm female, 26, tall, size 18 and am tend to shop in places like Dorothy Perkins, New Look as they have a "Tall" range or Debenhams. But I don't wanna spend a lot on something I won't wear day-to-day!
Any suggestions??

I would go for the first one, as still smart like you are taking the interview seriously but not too stiff either. Good luck!Hanny:easter_ba0

I think any of your suggestions sound fine! Have you thought of looking in Evans - reasonable selection, prices not too bad
Good Luck!0 -
Blouses don't have to button all the way through at the front. Perhaps you might find one which is more like a jumper in that it has a single button at the back of the neck.
However the second option gives you the smartness of having a blouse but should mean you are not worried about the gaping front.0 -
I would say avoid the blouse like the plague - you don't want to be thinking about whether they can see your bra when you should be stunning them with your amazing answers not your cleavage. lolIf you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

Option 2.
Pause, breathe and think, then speak.
Good luck, tell us how you get on.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
i think a suit is a bit overkill - as the job will require quite a casual dress code - however it is still important to make an effort, i would stick to smart trousers and a top, as you are needing to buy somthing for the interview that you wont normally need for the job try to choose somthing that will be worn for other occasions (a smart pair of black trousers is always usefull and choose a top that will go with your existing clothes and can be used to smarten up jeans etc). smart knitwear is a good idea as its a bit chilly at the moment. you dont want to be shivering cold and this taken as a sign of nerves.
good luck with your interview!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
I have the same problem with blouses but have solved it by simply sewing on a tiny press stud between the buttons that gap. Problem no more!
I also have an interview and have opted for a black skirt, black knee high boots and a smart blouse. I would usually wear a suit but wonder sometimes if it can come accross as too stuffy
Good Luck:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0
