See this is working already!
It's a fab place this is. It kind of works through osmosis! Good LuckLBM 10/08 £12510.74/0 -
Well I'm pretty pleased as I have not spent any real cash today again.
In addition I have achieved the following:
1) Opened up Virgin 0% CC and will transfer remainder of loan across ASAP
2) Ordered my Nan some flowers for her birthday but have done so through Quidco with 12% cashback. It usually tracks from this merchant so I am confident it will do so this time.
3) Deposited £10 in Chit Chat Bingo and played free daily scratchcard. Will withdraw the £10 ASAP
4) Shopped around for car insurance renewal due in two weeks, still need to check some more on this though.
5) Chased DH to phone Egg as he has had a letter come through about them being fined for PPI mis-selling. He had an Egg card a few years ago.
6) Chased DH to see why Orange are taking payments still for phone contract that should have been cancelled at end of October.
7) Taken Electricity reading to submit to company and take part in Electricity Challenge.
I am now going to sort my stuff out for my first day back at work tomorrow. Not looking forward to forking out for my train ticket but needs must.Savings: £25000.00/£40000 by Jan 010 Weight: 9/14lbs by 15 May 09 Fitness: going ok0 -
Well done on sorting out a 0% BT offer so quickly. Re train tickets - do you use/have you considered using season passes as these usually work out slightly cheaper in the long run? xxTarget debt - Loan left over from previous relationship - c. £3700

Yeh it was an instant decision so have asked Sainsburys for a settlement figure on the loan and will sort the BT out when I have set things up online.
I usually get a monthly season, although have in the past had an interest free season ticket loan from work to get an annual. I will only need to buy one for a few more months, when I start my new job I won't need one. It's a shocker though it's gone up from £193 to £211 so glad it won't be for much longer.
I have also done daily scratchcard today and DH has sorted out a refund from Orange for last two months payments they have taken for some reason. I also posted a book which I had sold on Amazon, seemed to cost a bit in postage though £2.51! My other spends were £11.67 at Tesco. I bought some bits for my lunches for the rest of the week.
Diet not going too bad although it was way too cold to do any running. I was going to do a Davina DVD but am settled on the sofa now watching TV. There is always tomorrow eh?Savings: £25000.00/£40000 by Jan 010 Weight: 9/14lbs by 15 May 09 Fitness: going ok0 -
Ok a bit hit and miss over the last week or so.
Things I could do better:
1) Do free scratchcard EVERY day
2) Do spending diary without fail
3) Use less heating
4) Plan meals
5) Bought new cat food which isn't liked
Things that have gone well:
1) Lowered car insurance
2) Done BT to 0% CC
3) Received £375 back from taxman after badgering them about a rebate I calculated were due from 2003!
4) Mobile bill was half as much as normal
5) Have taken in own lunch every day
The next few weeks will be tough as Corporal Cuddlepuss is back home on leave and will want nice food and to do stuff. Car service and Cat jabs are also due so the tax money will come in very handy.Savings: £25000.00/£40000 by Jan 010 Weight: 9/14lbs by 15 May 09 Fitness: going ok0 -
Arhhhhhhhhhh just posted a long post and lost it
Nevermind in summary I fell off the wagon in every way imaginable over the last few weeks whilst DH was home on leave. We ate lots and bought a Wii to play on but we had a great time and I can't wait until he comes home for good in May. We also had a hefty car service and cat jabs so eeek v expensive week or two.
On the plus side we had the tax rebate, a refund from orange and a big expenses claim paid so the expenditure was offset somewhat so we still managed to save a good chunk this month.
As an incentive to do even better (which I know we can especially on the groceries and electricty front) we went to see some new houses. We are now determined to save save save as we fell in love with a new build development that we could potentially afford in 6-9 months time. OUr thinking now is that we get our flat ready for sale and put on the market ASAP to avoid further house price drops (if it sells) and hopefully negative equity. We would need to spend £1500-2000 on this but it would be worth it. We could then move into Married Quarters if need be until we are absolutely ready to buy.
So onwards an upwards and another 3 months on my own before DH gets back for good. I start a new job on Monday so that should keep me busy for a while.
