vinegar and nappies = smell

I have recently started to use vinegar (a cap full in the softner draw of the washing machine) and have not noticed a smell on our clothes, and they do feel soft I think (normally don't use softner).

But I have noticed that my daughters nappies (washable ones, not disposables) really smell when wet. Just wondered if that is due to the combination of the vinegar and urine or not? And has anyone else experienced this as well.

    If you have a look at THIS thread further down the OS board, there is a running discussion on using washing powder and soda crystals for laundry. This may help solve your "smell" problem with the nappies??
