Yes, it's always half fat to flour so
1/2lb of flour
1/4lb fat - you can use lard (or half lard half butter) - or all butter if you're feeling well off.
little pinch of salt
add enough water to make into a firm dough to roll out.
Don't forget cold hands!
For a beef one, I use suet instead of lard, and pour a drop of the gravy on top to keep it moist while it cooks, yummy!

It is much nicer when you use all butter, it's lovely
Chop the butter into little cubes before adding it, it mixes easily.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

my husband did offer to go and get some fresh or frozen ready made patry but i dont think its cost effective and a packet of that stuff cost as much as buying a ready made pie.
also homemade pastry is much nicer, I have made it before but couldnt remember how.0
