The man has just arrived to scree (I think that what's Mr Z keeps calling it) the kitchen floor, he said he can come back tomorrow pm to lay the new floor - so fingers crossed by Sunday I'll have my kitchen!:j

We both have the day off today as we going to Mr Z's grandmother's funeral. We'll probably have to pop in to the supermarket on the way home to buy some food and drink as we weren't organised to sort it out yesterday and all our appliances are now in the lounge so tea may be some bagette and cheese, which is probably my favourite anyway, well except for the fact that I'm pregnant at the moment, so my favourite smelly blue cheese is off the menu!

So far we've had an eventful weekend. We got back in the early evening from the funeral and I could see through the patio doors that the kitchen door was open, where the screed had been put down earlier in the day. I immediately started to panic as we've two cats and I had visions of going in and finding them stuck in the dried flooring!:rotfl:

Luckily when we got in we found the cats weren't stuck in the floor, but had had a good run around, so the floor that was meant to be lovely and flat now had paw prints all over and our living room had prints and dirt from where they'd then trampled over the floor!

Mr Z got straight on the phone and managed to sort for the guy to come out first thing on saturday. He was very apologetic and said that he had remembered that we'd said about the cats but was only thinking about not letting them out of the back door - he didn't click about shutting the door to the kitchen!

We were hoping to have the flooring laid in the kitchen on Saturday pm and then move all our appliances and furniture back on Saturday but obviously this couldn't happen. Luckily they can come and finish on Monday so we can move things back in the kitchen on Monday night. Mr Z went down to the company's offices on Saturday to drop the key off to them and mentioned all the inconvenience this had caused - not being able to wash work clothes, not being able to cook, having to cancel people coming over on Sunday so they gave him £50 compensation, which is being used to pay for the extra expense of either eating out or buying more convenience food.

We also went for a walk in a small town close to where we live yesterday and I remember seeing that there was a independent baby shop their and when we walked past I suggested we went in and they had on display the buggy that I wanted to get in the exact colour so Mr Z got to have a proper play with it and agreed it would be perfect for us, we said that we also wanted the majority of accessories to go with it so the manager said he'd give us 10% off the total price and he'd deliver it to us for free - so we ordered that :j . Luckily my parents have said they want to buy us the buggy as my grandparents bought mine, so they didn't care how much it was and my Dad is going to transfer the money over to me.

I'm now in fully baby mode for trying to decide what other things we need to buy, so I'm sure I'll spend alot of my day today researching, when I'm meant to being doing some work as I had the day off on Friday. Oh well - hopefully I can get both done!
