E:UNKNOWN - Waitrose tuna offer

The 4 pack of John West tuna chunks (in brine, springwater and sunflower oil) have been reduced from £5.36 to £2.50 - cheaper than the asda value version I think.

I stocked up, hope this helps other tuna addicts out there! :D

Ooh this is a decent offer!

I always purchase the big tin of John West for £1.38.
  • Thanks. I will get some next time I go to Waitrose. Any idea when the offer is on until?

  • Just picked up 2 packs in the Dartford Waitrose!
  • Great offer but we are still snowed under with JW Tuna in brine when Asda knocked them down to 50p per can (from £1.35 IIRC) a couple of months ago (in my local they placed theese cans next to their 3-pack of the same item which they were continuing to sell for £3.74, and I must have stopped at least 10 people putting the 3 pack into their trolleys during my several visits to the display. Madness...)

Most offers finish 6th January, but according to online shopping this one finishes 27th.

Just a word of caution, I had some Jonh West Tuna in the cupboard. I opened it last night to find it had scales in the tuna and some weird looking bits.

You are nearly right about it being cheaper than Asda Smartprice - I've just seen their chunks in brine are a whopping £0.55 - used to be about £0.30 a few months back. Tesco Value are c £0.37.

Another example of Asda "ramping up" rather than "rolling back"
