Pine Solutions Furniture

Hi, has anyone ever bought anything from Pine Solutions, the online furniture store? From what I can see, the products look solid enough on the website but buying furtniture without seeing it first is a bit nerve-wracking! Any info or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes I have.We bought our daughters bedroom furniture from them which we had already chosen in a furniture store and happened to come across it from pine solutions £800 cheaper.
They're sale's team are also excellent I spoke a couple of times to them to arrange delivery etc and they were both friendly and helpful.
We opted for only 1 driver avoiding the extra £25 delivery charge as my husband was going to help carry the stuff in but when they delivered there were 2 of them anyway so glad we didn't pay the extra!
I would definatly use them again and would highly recommend them.0 -
I bought two bedside tables and two chests of drawers from them a couple of years ago. My husband put them together and I've lost count of the number of times the fronts of the drawers have come off, although this is mostly due to the quality of the wood glue. However, just this week I discovered that on one of the smaller drawers (quite a full one, but not overly full and only with pyjamas) the wood has split all round the drawer - both sides and the back!
In contrast, I have another pine chest of drawers that my mother had for about 10 years before passing on to me, and it is still as sturdy as anything without having had any problem at all (and it's my husband's so is overly full!).
Just a wee warning. The range was one of the cheaper pine ones though so I can't comment on the more expensive ranges. A friend recommended them to me and as far as I know she's not had any problems.0 -
I've bought from the 'Devon Oak' range. Order was delivered within 3 days of ordering. Price was £200 less than my local retailer, including delivery. This was on two fairly small items - I can easily see how you could save a lot more if you were buying things like wardrobes, dining tables etc.
The quality of the things I bought is excellent. My ex FIL was a joiner so he likes things made of wood :rotfl: and he said they're very well made. He's bought several items fromt that range for his own house.
However, it's not a cheap range and I have no idea what the pine stuff would be like.
I'd have no hesitation in ordering from them again and hope to do so when I've got some money again ! :eek:0 -
I bought a chest of drawers from a local shop recently called Pine and Period Furniture (www.pineandperiod.com), based near Canterbury in Kent.
It's all solid wood and already assembled by their local craftsman. Personally, I hate having to put together furniture and usually find self-assembly stuff, perhaps through my lack of skill, like CaroB says falls apart quite quickly.
I think they can deliver throughout Kent and if you're in the South East definitely worth checking out.0 -
I have some furniture from the Oxbury range and haven't had any problems with it at all. I would recommend them without hesitation.

I can also vouch for the Devon oak range, well made and a lot cheaper than local store. Also got a large pine/cream painted console which I'm also very pleased with. I can't recall the name though (began with a C) Made in a more rustic way but solid piece of furniture.0

I bought some solid oak from Pine Solutions, it was ok but the varnish was quite badly finished and the drawers didn’t fit very well, I think it may have been seconds – maybe because they are obviously pine specialists?
I used Hovells for my teenage son’s bedroom – the difference in quality was massive. It was much heavier and the finish was excellent. I wouldn’t mind so much if I had paid more at Hovells, but it was cheaper and a nicer looking set!
Needless to say I swapped my sons and my bedroom around when he left for Uni0
