Hi
I bought a large 2 seater sofa for £1000 from M&S approx 12 years ago and I'd say that it is still in the same condition as it was when I first bought it.
It is a really well built sofa - good solid structure.
The fabric is a a ribbed chenille which has been very hard wearing, and there are no holes or tears in the fabric underneath the cushions.
The cushions are made from the hollow fibre material which needs plumping up occassionally.
Overall, I have been very happy with my sofa from M&S!0 -
Thank you for taking the time to reply.:beer:0

I had 2 M&S chairs from about 10 years ago and they are as good now as they were then.
However I recently (12 months ago) bought 2 new arm chairs from M&S and one of the seat cushions split on the seam. When they sent a technician to repair it he told me that the cushions of the chairs I bought were really dreadful quality and he would not advise I bought similar again. These are a kind of hollow fill fibre.
I guess as with any products there are some duff ones though.0 -
a few months ago i moved into my first flat and bought 2 sofas from m&s. It was when they had a 30% off sale on all furniture, and i'd picked the cheapest ones as money was tight. I ended up paying £470 for two small two seaters.
The delivery men who delivered them asked where i'd got them from as he liked the fabric and style (the company delivered for m&s, house of fraser and fenwick) When I told him where they were from and how much they were he nearly fell over! He said he thought they looked expensive.
Since then, in the past month or so the seat cushions have begun to look a bit squashed in the seat that i always sit in, but i'd expect that to happy with any sofa - and for the price, who am I to complain!0 -
The comapny that used to make the furniture for M&S went bust a few years ago so the quality may have changed nowadays.0

I bought an M&S sofa which is now two years old. I got in 30% off in the January sale and I am very happy with it. It was delivered by Abels and unfotunately I live in a second floor flat and it would not come through the front door but the delivery men were very determined and hoisted it up onto my balcony and through the balcony door. You would not get this sort of service with DFS or the like. :-)0
