currys not passing on vat cut?

Inlaws bought a matsui 22" lcd tv last week price shown as £199.99 which is the price they were charged. This was not a sale price. Should vat have been taken off the price?

They should check their receipt - if the receipt shows VAT at 15%, then they've been charged the right amount.

Currys changed all their ticket prices to reflect the new VAT rates on the day of the change. So unlike other retailers the price is reduced prior to the POS. So yes they were charged the right amount.
