How much have you spent today? Thurs 19/01

  • Most major spend today was at Kwik fit.

I, being the non car minded dumb blonde that I am, marched into Kwik Fit and said I need two new tyres and to my suprise, instead of the bloke saying ok and just replacing them, he actually came and looked at them and said I didn't need them! He said he would be able to repair the puncture instead.

So instead of paying around £80 for two new tyres it only cost me £17-50.

So I gave them lots of cakes for being honest and not ripping me off.

    Bloke seemed really taken aback.

Nothing for me again today, but I only have the money that is left in my purse (approx £10 in change) until my first job seekers allowance payment comes through, not sure when that will be...
  • £0 today and I'm so proud of myself because that's the third day this week!!

  • Hi,

This is my first post here, I've been following Martin's advice for a while and reading this fab forum!!

Anyway, today I was very good and spent:

£1.62 to send two items I sold on ebay to their new owners.

£2.42 in Tesco Express on a local paper, a Daily Mail, a bag of peas and six boxes of 10p Birds Eye Potato Waffles.

Looking forward to posting loads more.

Just under £20 on my dental checkup and clean...

Then I had to get travel insurance for the kids as they are too old for a family policy so just over £50 for the annual policies with ski cover.

River Island - £59.99 on some black ankle boots exactly the same as the pair I have in brown as I liked them so much (paid in gift vouchers I brought through Ebay using Paypal so no real cash spent)

Boots - calendar at £2 (paid using my AC points), quite pleased as CD:Wow ran out of calendar I had brought so cancelled my order and refunded me back £2.99. Managed to save 99p in the process. Again no real cash spent.
    Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
    Boots points: £0.28
    Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
    Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)
    Rpoints:redeemed 28925 points)Cashbag:£8.91(£20)
  • Again, a grand total of £0.00 today. I managed to sell some Lego though, which made me £15. Unfortunately, this is countered by the fact I lost £30 betting (same story that I mentioned over the last couple of days). May be getting £22.07 to minimise my loss, but the company is a bit shoddy, so not counting my chickens.

    Live and learn I guess...

£2.49 Holland & Barrett Sea salt for my bath
    97p Anti histamines Wilkinsons
So a little bit today, but not too much
