just a warning to you all. my dad ordered my brother a mini ipod for his xmas in the last triple points offer. the order was confirmed and he hadn't heard anything or had a delivery so he phoned them to be told that their system doesn't work in conjunction with their warehouse. so even if they confirm it when it goes to be packed, if it is out of stock your order is cancelled

hence my dad going mad, and the boots staff saying they get shouted at every day about this, so good luck in trying to get one.

I picked my iPod mini up direct through Apple too, using the student discount link and the £8 code, for a grand total of £155.10 with free laser engraving and delivery.

I have had exactly the same problem but with a playstation - I am sure people will have the same problem with these as well ::) Bat he is really annoyed that they have had some back into stock but didn't contact him to ask if he wanted one as well. Letter to HO is the best bet

ordered immediately when they came back into stock and have just received email saying now not in stock! They don't seem to have any "system" to their ordering process

Count yourself lucky they bothered to tell you - sad but true ::)

Interesting. I phoned them up because my ipod hadn't been delivered today. Was told that it had been put on the corby van, so if I hadn't received it by 6pm tomorrow I was to give them a call.

yeah, i've advised him to do this and contact trading standards etc. they offered him £5 off something else ::)

he did it when could use discount code and got almost £20 quid off plus 4000 advantage points which have now all been lost.

they should at least keep order live until more come in. it means that someone behind you in the queue gets them rather than you.

Well in a way its nice to find out its not just me who is getting terrible cs from them, if you want pm me as I have a nice little address to write to, if we write to the same person he may get the message something is wrong. I am in the process of writing up another letter at the moment (royalmail lost my other one) as I nearly died when I looked @ my phone bill this morning, spent over £30 calling them as it takes a minimum of  half an hour to get through (was on my mobile as well) That was when I decided enough was enough anyways I better stop hijacking this topic with me moaning again - sorry  ::)
I haven't even been offered £5 :'(

yesterday it seemed i walked to the end of the earth to get my son a 20g ipod
I was prepared to pay the earth as well by the end of the day........ until i went in to BOOTS eldon square newcastle
and they had mini ipods £179.99 and 20g ipods £219.99 in stock
i nearly bought one at 4pm but i went to check to see if there was any offers on the points machine and it turned out that at 6:30 there was a customer christmas shopping evening and for every £50 you spent you got 1200 worth of points!
i was jumping cartwheels and i asked the assistant to keep me one until 6:30 the snotty cow refused and told me it was impossible and that the store shut at 6pm and reopened at 6:30 and i would have to make sure i was there on time as they would definately be a quick seller and "oh did i have my invitation" when i asked for one she said "did you not get a magazine ", i said yes but i'm a very busy lady and didn't have time to read it
i asked if she could could get me one as the points voucher says "ask staff for an invitation"
she went away and came back with one but had to have the last word in saying there's only a few left and you need to show it

I went over to another assistant and asked if she could keep me an ipod for the customer shopping night and was told off course come back tonight or tomorrow anytime and you didn't need to show the card
i got my ipod for £219.99 plus i spent another £30 to make my sale over £250 and got £10 normal points plus £60 in points for the christmas shop night
thats £70 in points which i got perfumes for my daughters for xmas

the staff said they do this regularly and there will be another before xmas so i will be on the look out!
i don't think ppeople look in boots for the ipods so it might be worth going there if you want one and you may be lucky and get a bargain:)

Well it looks like my little chat with the supervisor today has done some good on the ipod front, it has been sent out already and I chose standard delivery (it was blue and I ordered just before they went out of stock)
