Not quite the bargain it seems - Asda

Not real money saving, but more a warning to the unwary about "bargains" not being all they seem
I was in ASDA today, and noted the Smartprice oranges were "WoW" reduced from 67p to 37p. On the face of it a 30p saving
Being a cynical old git I checked the weights, Oh well, what a con, the 37p is for 600g, the 67p refers to 1Kg [I happened to find the only "old price" one left, so know the weight]
Thus the 30p saving is by deceptive packaging & pricing really only a saving of 3p on old price not 30p

Smart price pre packed apples......77p last time I bought them, for a fair few apples. The next time I ordered them, there were four in the packet for the same price (600g worth). To buy a kilo of loose apples? 63p.Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

I`ve noticed exactly the same thing in my local Morrisons with their value fruit and veg. It seems that they are all at it. They must think that we are daft!
