Should I Cash In My Home Plan Now?

I have decided that i need to cash in my halifax home plan which ive paid into for twelve years [the price has already dropped alot because of the economy from last year] because i need to do home improvements before i try to sell my house later this year. I have rung halifax and they have told me that today it is valued at 6,090 . What i want to know is it likely to improve in value in the next month or should i just get on with cashing it in? Any advice would be great!
