b4udirect.com - Anyone bought from them?

Hi all and a happy new year :)

Just a quick scout about for any information on this retailer please.

Me and my OH are looking to buy an LG 42LG7000 and after missing the savings at the Currys / Dixons / PC World sale (because he was umm-ing and arr-ing) have been looking to get it from another place.

Using Google Product Search UK we found it on the above name site for £576.33 including a HDMI cable.

Now, this is a great price for the TV, but after a quick look on the interwebs for reviews I came across this on the AV Forums http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-televisions/895280-42lg7000-b4udirect-com.html.

It seems they do not ship items from the UK, but are UK based (using Barclays to process orders).

There is a little few points in the T&C which I would like some advice on... the full set is here http://www.b4udirect.com/statics/terms.htm

The points which I would like comments on are 4 in relation to 8 and 9.

I quote (as of 11:12 02.01.09)

4. Prices

The prices indicated on the Site are in Pounds Sterling and include all taxes. Delivery is FREE! We reserve the right to modify our prices at any moment but will apply the current rates as indicated to you on the site at the time the order was placed. Please also see "Tax / Duties" section.

8. Tax

We do not charge any VAT. Any import/customs fees are to be bourne by B4UDirect's customers. =======

8. Tax / Duties

I have tried to phone them and enquire about this to see if they can explain it to me a little better, but no-one is picking up the phone.

I will be buying the product on my OH credit card so we have Section 75 protection - but with the mix up (as I see it) in the T&C's will this cover me if I end up paying more than the advertised amount (as in one place it says 'all taxes included').

Thanks in advance for any advice,

sparklygemster :)

PS.
There is a 10% discount code - d1r3ct4m3 - not managed to try it yet but it's there if anyone does want to :)

  • Hi sparklygemster,

A little late I'm afraid, but I have ordered from b4udirect.com (which also trades as froomoo.com and fizi.com, all owned by a 'Ronnie Banga' based in Birmingham). I ordered goods totalling £700 in early September 2011. They failed to deliver, so I cancelled on 27th Sept. They failed to refund the money, despite numerous phonecalls and two legal letters. Their customer support is not only useless, but I have evidence of them lying on two occasions. I've reported them to actionfraud.org.uk/ and sought advice from Consumer Direct. One simple online order has caused no end of headaches spread over three months. Please do a google search for 'b4udirect.com reviews' or 'froomoo.com reviews' before ordering and make your mind up based on the results.
