Current Tesco policy?

Please would somebody explain these?
My experience was being charged the correct amount stated on the receipt but given the wrong change back (less).
The store corrected their error by giving me the extra change and added there was no longer a policy to obtain the groceries free with a full refund.Thanks.

About 2 years ago Tesco stopped their policy of a full refund and keep the goods if you were overcharged. The last time I was overcharged they refunded me twice the amount I'd been overcharged by. Not sure what policies apply for being given the wrong change though?
HTH xsome people grin and bear it, others smile and do it

I'd expect all they do is give you the missing change back surely ?Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.0

Indeed, I'm puzzled as to why they would ever do anything else?Stompa0 -
This used to happen in Asda as well, they gave you the goods for free and the money back, and on a couple of occasions I was given a £2 voucher - ahhhh the good old days!
Any moment now it is said that Tesco will even stop letting people use coupons when they do not buy the goods! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

A few years ago when I worked for Tesco  , if someone was short-changed (notes not just odd pence) we had to get the cash office to do a till check and only if it showed that the till was 'over' would they get their money back  . If this happened once the cash office staff had gone home at 5pm, the customer had to wait until the next day before they found out if they would get their money back
Mostly this happened when customers asked for cashback then realised that it hadn't been given to them by the cashier, this is why you now have to initial the cashback on the till receipt when the cashier gives it to you.0 -
Yes there was a similar thing in the Coop. The most common one was people saying ' where is my cash back?'cashless-cow wrote: »A few years ago when I worked for Tesco  , if someone was short-changed (notes not just odd pence) we had to get the cash office to do a till check and only if it showed that the till was 'over' would they get their money back  .
