Debt free date?? I'll get back to you on that one!!
  • Very worst (Loans, two ccs, two whacking great overdrafts) was probably a couple of years ago now, but this time last year we were about £7k in debt. I still can't believe it's going down so fast when we're generally making the same payments we used to - still only one card, and the amounts of interest dropping like a stone ... In July £140 was interest, now it's about £20. I get happier every day knowing we'll nearly be clear - and I sleep better now than I have in YEARS!!!

Plus OH was saying last night we might actually be able to get a bigger house - our two currently share a bedroom, which is fine when they're tiny, but ten years from now I can't see that being the case!

i would like to know if theres anyone out there who has a long term debt time span ahead of them ... cccs told us if we pay off at our current rate we are looking at 21 years.. however in 3 years both kids will be back at school at which point we will be able to make a big increase in our payments but until that time i find it very hard to visualise anything other than a long crap life with absolutely no holidays, texco value range ( and yeah i know some of it is good but not ALL the time with no choice for anything else - the novelty of money saving soon wears off when its making no difference other than keeping your head above water) ....
maybe someone has some ideas for little perks that dont cost anything?
:EasterBun ...what more do I need to say?!
its all in the name of medical science.
  • hello klare :)

I have yet to know how long my debts will take to pay as my appointment with CCCS isn't until February but I know it will be along time also so you're not alone:grouphug:
There was a thread about things to do which cost very little or are free which I remember reading but cannot find at the moment but some of the things mentioned were the free DVD trials, getting free beauty products on the freebie board & having a pampering session & cut price cinema tickets. Will have another look or maybe someone knows how to get it posted? (am quite new so not sure what to do!)
At least you know that you'll be able to make big strides in your debt in a few years so it may just help to forget the 21 years figure & concentrate on the day to day stuff so it doesn't seem quite so overwhelming.

    big hugs xx
