can i reclaim fees

I am with the abbey for my mortgage. After 2 years I remortgaged costing in fees approx £240, and again when I took out a further mortgage. In total I have paid out approx £400 in fees. My question is, can I reclaim these costs now with the reclaiming bank fees?

    i am going to assume you dont mean remortgage but changing your deal as you say it was with Abbey and the wording infers no other lender involved.

    These arrangement charges have nothing to do with bank overdraft charges. The court case is deciding whether bank charges in relation to debt are penalty charges or admin charges. Mortgage arrangement fees are retail purchase prices. i.e. you agreed in advance to pay those charges to buy a new product. In this case the mortgage deal.

    No chance. As dunstonh points out, they are not the sort of charges that are in question.

    I would say that you have not done too bad, as a lot of lenders charge around £1000 now, just to renew your deal with them

    I recently spent £68.32 doing my weekly shopping at Tesco.

    Although I got what I wanted at a price I was prepared to pay, I now feel that it is unfair that a commercial enterprise should charge for things like food, toothpaste and cleaning fluids.

    Can anybody advise me on if I can claim back these costs and also retain my Clubcard points?

    I had a plumber come to the house to do some work the other day and I had to pay him:eek:

    Surely tradesmen should be giving their services free of charge ?

    These plumbers must be dodgy as hell. Is there a plumbers ombudsman I can complain to?

    I recently had an outside tap fitted and a leaky tap repaired. He told me the price in advance which I agreed to and he had the cheek to actually charge me that amount as well as fixing my leaky tap and installing the outside tap.
